I'm just messing with EFT right now and love it so far. I created four setups and found it to be a breeze after getting used to it. The interface and functionality make it much more appealing to me than QuickFit, which also always slowed my (rather aged) box down to a crawl due to it being Java. I do have a few spontaneous suggestions though.

Double clicking NEEDS to fit the module [..]
Having this option would indeed be more convenient for the user. Would it be possible to implement it and default the adding of the module in question to the currently highlighted setup window? Doubleclicking on an already fitted mod should in turn remove it.
- An excellent feature which I'd love to see in EFT (even though it would be a blatant QuickFit ripoff) would be the "last slot" option. I sometimes find myself in the situation where I am left with a free slot and can't make my mind up on what to fit and appreciate having this possibility. Sometimes I even get a new idea from it.
- Also, a nice ergonomic change would be the implementation of standard Windows Ctrl and Shift keys while dragging & dropping. E. g. having fitted a specific gun to let's say a battleship, you could then simply Ctrl + drag the gun from the high slot to another high slot, a "+" sign would appear next to the transparent icon, and it would be "cloned", well, copied over to the next slot. Doing the same thing while holding down "Shift" could move the module in question to another slot or switch positions with a module if there already is one in the destination slot - which would be purely cosmetic, but would help keeping a setup tidy.
- Rightclicking on fitted modules should also open the specific market group and show the entries (similar to the ammo function for guns) to present you with alternatives. It would be more convenient than manually finding the item in question in the integrated browser, especially if you just cannot think of the damn name (it happens all too often).
- On a last note, the bottom left window showing the search matches (and especially group entries if using the item browser) should be sortable; if you click on the "Name" tab, they should be sorted alphabetically. If you click on the "CPU" tab, it should be sorted by values; if you click it again, the sorting will be reversed, etc.. just like in windows explorer or the market window in Eve itself.
All the suggestions aside, so far EFT looks like epic pwn to me. I salute you for creating a program which offers a lot of functionality and giving it to the community for use
